How to start a VTU business in Nigeria

A VTU (virtual top-up) business sells airtime, data and bill payments to customers online and earns a small profit on every sale. Because people buy data and airtime almost every day, a VTU business brings repeat customers with little capital.

The basics

What you need

🌐

A VTU website

Where customers create an account, fund a wallet and buy data, airtime, electricity tokens, cable TV and exam PINs.

🔗

A domain name

Your brand online, e.g. yourbrand.com.ng.

⚡

A product supply

Something that delivers each purchase automatically, any time of day.

💳

A way for customers to pay

Such as a personal account number for bank transfers.

🙋🏾

Customers

Friends, family, students, shop owners and WhatsApp groups.

Building all of this yourself means paying a developer and connecting to providers one by one. With our platform it comes ready: your own branded website, automatic delivery and customer wallets, for a one-time ₦30,000 with domain setup included.

Getting started

Step by step

  1. 1

    Pick a name and domain

Choose something short that is easy to say and type.

  2. 2

    Get your platform

Pay the one-time ₦30,000 and we set up your domain and website.

  3. 3

    Set your prices

Add a flat profit to each data plan, and a markup on airtime and other services. Keep data prices competitive: it is what customers compare most.

  4. 4

    Get your first customers

Share your link on WhatsApp status and groups, Instagram and TikTok. Offer to buy for people who are new to it, and they will start buying themselves.

  5. 5

    Give fast support

Reply quickly on WhatsApp. Good service is why customers stay with one vendor.

  6. 6

    Withdraw your profit

Your profit builds up as customers buy. Withdraw it whenever you want.
